Review of Future Savior Series book two: Resurrection by Jennifer Hartz 5 Stars!!!

This month I had two sequels that were tied for first place on my “Dying to read list” they were “Future Savior Series book two: Resurrection” by Jennifer Hartz and “Tributary” (River of time series) by Lisa Bergren! Well life got in the way, but when I finally got to read them boy, did my Kindle get a workout! Where, oh where do I even begin, Resurrection is incredible, I was overjoyed at being reunited with my beloved characters, yes I am beginning to feel that I know these characters, and due to the great talent of the author I feel like I have taken up residence in Meric and that I really do go on all the adventures with them! There are not words to describe Resurrection, it is out of this world!!! I didn't think it was possible but I loved this one even more than the first one! As with the first book in the series, I absolutely loved all the scenes that had Biblical parallels. Those scenes especially, really made me want to grab my Bible so that I could read about the real events!!! Amazing characters, gorgeous settings, breathtaking action and romance, what's not to love? It all built to a cliffhanger that literally left me whining “Jennifer, how could you leave me hanging like this”!!! Needless to say I CANNOT wait to read book three: Evacuation! I am so blessed to have the Future Savior Series in my life. Every time I read any part of them my day gets about 10 shades brighter! And I am so thrilled that I have so much of this series yet to discover! The Future Savior Series is definitely, without a doubt one of my all time favorite series!!! I can't wait to see what happens next. I was completely entwined and enthralled by Resurrection, read it , you will be too.

Review of Raised Right: How I untangled my faith from politics by Alisa Harris 5 stars!

I could really relate to many things in this book. While my childhood was nowhere near as extremely political as the authors I have grown up with a very republican devoted father. I found myself feeling very sorry for the author when she documents being in college and realizing that being a political activist is the only identity she had. I loved the authors writing style, she is not preachy but rather simply expresses the lessons she has learned in her life in a very helpful and insightful way that I believe would open a lot of people's eyes. I loved the authors realization that the world is not black and white there are a lot of shades of gray too. Another thing I thought was awesome was the stand that the author took against titles and stereotypes, it made me proud to call myself a Christian feminist and an independent. The book was slightly hard to follow as the events are not listed chronologically, each chapter has a unique message and the author chronicles moments in her life when she learned pieces of the message of that chapter. I don't want to give to much away but I will just say that I agree almost one hundred percent with all of the authors conclusions. I found this book to be a quick read (I read it in just over a day) I would recommend it to anyone, teen and adult. I recieved this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own.

Review of Glamorous Illusions by Lisa Bergren 5 stars!!!

I actually had enough self control to not read the last four chapters last night! But I just finished it! Glamorous Illusions by Lisa Tawn Bergren. Is not as action packed as the River of time series (my favorite books of all time) and I was a little confused by the romance because I couldn't really tell what direction it was heading but that is great incentive to read the next book! I could relate to Cora very much, I know for a fact that if I was ever in her situation I would react exactly the same way! The message is awesome and the book itself is great! I am excited to read Grave Consequences book two of the Grand Tour series when it comes out!

Review of Eye Of The Sword by Karyn Henley 4 stars!

Before I started this book I did not know that it was second in a series. However, even without having read the first I found it to be quite easy to follow the story. This story fascinated me. I believe that angels are real, but I personally did not have a problem with the angels and the way they are portrayed in this book. The fact that this book is fairly short and I feel boasts everything you could want in a book like this is a testament to the authors writing ability and imagination. While this is not a comedy there are many moments of humor, particularly when Pym one of my favorite characters was around. I also very much loved the character Ollena. The characters and the world in which they live were very well thought and fully fleshed out. It was slightly disconcerting that no matter how far the characters had to travel, they could get there in no more than two days (even on horseback)but I understand that is for the sake of the story. I was disappointed that Princess Melaia was not always present in the story. The message of forgiving yourself for past mistakes and discovering who you truly are was well written and I believe that teens would be able to relate to it. I recommend Eye of the sword to anyone who enjoys Christian fantasy fiction. I would definitely read Eye of the sword again and I look forward to going back and reading the first book to see the beginning of the story and I also look forward to the next installment. Review of Future Savior Series book one:Conception by Jennifer Hartz

The authors imagination and passion leaps not only from the pages but from every single word of this mesmerizing read! Christina is such a believable and realistic character and the author is so talented that I could feel everything, every emotion, every plot twist, every struggle in this story so strongly it was as if I was living it myself! In fact when Christina had no one to spend her birthday with, my initial instinct was to call her up and invite her to go to the movies or something, because I could feel how lonely she was! And I really wanted to be a friend to her! Christina's reaction to arriving in Meric is very realistic, I loved watching her change from being a worldly, slightly cynical character to starting to become the woman she was intended to be throughout the course of the novel.

The land of Meric is beautifully created by Jennifer, it blends gorgeous landscapes and fabulous characters that you fall in love with instantly, with things that are considered impossible in our world such as green chickens, elves, unicorns etc. It is also fascinating because you do not know where Meric is in relation to America and whether it is the same year there as it is here or if by going to Meric you are time traveling. To me it felt like a mixture of The chronicles of Narnia and Alice in wonderland but with a story and history all it's own.

As a horse lover I loved all of the different horses that exist in Meric, this includes unicorns that were written so wonderfully that I could picture them standing before me. I also appreciated that all the horses have names, and that the characters refer to them by their name instead of referring to them as 'the horse'.

The romance is very tender and touching. It was a very interesting twist on the traditional love story in that the heroine has known the hero her whole life without realizing it.

Words cannot begin to describe Shaw's awesomeness, so I will just say that I admired his modesty and humility. Plus he drinks tea, any man who drinks tea is okay in my book! Needless to say I found myself falling for him.

Another thing that makes Conception absolutely perfect is the underlying message that God is in control, Jennifer wrote this in a way that I as a strong christian loved, but it was definitely not preachy so I don't think anybody would find it offensive. Jennifer's attention to detail was wonderful and I loved that she provided details and logistics (for example what Shaw had to do to avoid drawing attention to himself in America as he 'watched' Christina) that many authors don't bother to include in their stories.

I also love a Good vs Evil battle and I love scenes that occur in thunder storms. I must stop myself now to keep from giving away too much of the plot.

I know this review is all 'pros', but I honestly could not find a single 'con' in this story, it is absolutely flawless! I could go on forever about how amazingly incredible Conception is, it truly is a must read, and I cannot wait to read the next book! With five books in the Future Savior Series I am psyched at getting to spend a lot more time with these beloved characters in the enchanting and mesmerizing world of Meric.

I give Conception: Future Savior Series book one, 5 stars!

On second thought scratch that... because Conception really deserves all the stars in the sky!! Jennifer Hartz knocked my socks off and completely blew me away! I only wish I had more hands so I could give it more than two thumbs up!!! Read it and you'll see, it is superb!
