Bout of Books 'This made me think of that' Challenge!
Hosted by My Overstuffed Shelves
Just think about the book you are reading now, or one you've read before, and tell me something you think goes with it and why.
The something can be another book, a movie, a song, a ballet, a drink, a special food or meal...
From the start the Patrick Bowers series by Steven James has reminded me of the classic 80's TV show, MacGyver!
My brother and I have loved watching reruns of MacGyver for years now. These two series really have a lot in common, they both have strong and smart male leads who use their brains to solve crimes and catch bad guys, they are both unconventional yet when nothing else works Patrick Bowers and MacGyver are called in to save the day. They both feature a lot of suspense, and the main character finding their way out of life and death situations even when there doesn't appear to be anyway out! They both notice details that no one else does! And both these series will take you on a thrilling roller coaster ride that you won't want to get off! Oh, and both Patrick Bowers and MacGyver are excellent with computers!

Review: Here To Stay by Melissa Tagg!
5 Stars!!!
After reading and loving Made to Last earlier this year, I was eagerly anticipating Here to Stay. But I'm not gonna lie, I had such high expectations for this book that I was a little bit nervous that there was no possible way this story could meet them. I am delighted to say that Here to Stay totally and completely surpassed every single one of my expectations! I loved this book so much that it is now impossible for me to choose a favorite of Melissa Tagg's books! I loved Blake in the first book and I was so looking forward to reading his story, and all I can say is oh my gosh, he totally has a permanent spot on my all time favorite heroes list! Autumn was a great heroine, and she and Blake were absolutely perfect for each other. I don't want to risk spoiling anything so I will just say that I loved that this story was set in a small town! At the end of every chapter I remember thinking "This book can't possibly get anymore amazing" and yet with every consecutive chapter that theory was continuously proven wrong and by the ending this book's awesomeness had risen to truly epic proportions!
In closing this was a truly fabulous book that earned Melissa Tagg a forever spot on my list of all time favorite authors!
I was honored to receive a review copy of this amazing book from Bethany House publishers, in exchange for my honest review!

Review: Fatal Exchange by Lisa Harris!
4 Stars!
This was a really good romantic suspense novel. This was my first time reading a book by Lisa Harris, so I didn't really know what to expect but I'm happy to say that I really enjoyed it! The plot was very unique, and I really liked both Emily and Mason and I loved the fact that the author actually made me feel and root for Rafael. There were many twists and turns in this book that I didn't see coming at all, for example I had no clue who the true villain was for much of the book and I was very surprised when that person's identity was revealed; I read a lot of romantic suspense and I can usually guess who the villain is pretty early on (Which I really enjoy!) but I have to give this author kudos for stumping me! I hope nobody will view this as a spoiler, but one of the things I loved the most and felt was the most interesting and unique thing about this book is that (With the exception of the last couple chapters!) the events of this book take place all in one day, and what a crazy day it was! Very unique angle!
I enjoyed this book very much and I am now really excited to go back and read the first book in the series. And let me tell you, after reading the excerpt of book three in the back of this book, whoa I am waiting with bated breath to read the rest of it!
This was a great read and the only reason why I'm giving it four stars instead of five is because I felt like there were some minor plot holes and a few things were unnecessarily repeated quite a bit, which got a tad bit annoying at times.
I highly recommend Fatal Exchange!
I received this book for free from Revell in exchange for an honest review. I have done so.

Silenced by Dani Pettrey Review and Reader Fun Post!
Book Summary:
A relaxing day of rock climbing takes a disturbing turn when Kayden McKenna’s route leads her to a face-to-face encounter with a dead climber. Is it a terrible accident or something sinister? When the case is handed to the overburdened sheriff, he turns to Jake Westin. With Jake’s past now revealed, he’s ready to use his talent for investigation again-–but he could never prepare for where the case will take him.
Kayden and Jake soon realize that the death was no accident. And worse, it seems the killer is on to them. When strange things begin happening in Yancey, Jake is terrified that once again his world may put someone he loves in danger.
But the truth is far worse than either of them imagine.
My Review: Silenced by Dani Pettrey 5 Stars!!!
Since the beginning of Submerged I've known that Kayden and Jake would be perfect for each other, and I have been waiting patiently (Okay, maybe not so patiently!) to read their story! I'm beyond thrilled to say that I was not disappointed! Silenced exceeded all my expectations. I absolutely loved this book, which is obvious based on the fact that I read it from cover to cover in under twelve hours! Just like all of Dani's other books I hated to put it down! I loved finally getting inside Kayden's head and really getting to know her for the first time. And of course Jake proved himself to be the amazing lead hero that I always knew he was! There was not a single thing about this book that I didn't love! Every time I return to Yancey, Alaska in one of the novels in the Alaskan Courage series it feels like coming home! That's the beautiful thing about Ms. Pettrey's books, yes the pages fly but even more than that the pages of the book or the screen of the e-reader disappears and you're no longer reading a novel but living it right alongside the McKenna siblings.
I would say more about the plot but I don't want to risk spoiling anything. But let me just say that while I think Shattered is still my favorite book in this series, Silenced is yet another Dani Pettrey crafted treasure for my keeper shelf!
Overall, I absolutely adored Silenced and I cannot wait for the next book though I'm sure it will be bittersweet for me because Reef's story will be the last in the Alaskan Courage series.
P.S. I have several favorite Christian romantic suspense authors but if somebody told me I could read only pick one of them to read for the rest of my life... My choice would be Dani Pettrey!!!
I received this book from the author and Bethany House publishers in exchange for my honest review.
Thanks!
The above is my honest opinion.
All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own
Dani Pettrey is a wife, home-schooling mom, and the acclaimed author of the romantic suspense series Alaskan Courage, which includes her bestselling novels Submerged, Shattered, Stranded, and her latest release, Silenced. She feels blessed to write inspirational romantic suspense because it incorporates so many things she loves–the thrill of adventure, nail biting suspense, the deepening of her characters’ faith, and plenty of romance. She and her husband reside in Maryland, where they enjoy time with their daughters, son-in-law, and super adorable grandson.
And finally! I'm not sure exactly what Reef McKenna looks like but the first movie star that came to mind was...Taylor Lautner! And look, the picture I found has Aurora in it too!
