GUEST POST FROM MEGHANN
Inspiration for the setting:

My maternal grandparents owned a beachside inn on Cape Cod where I spent my summers as a child, and when I started writing Falling for the Innkeeper, I knew I wanted to go back there and visit their inn on paper.
I have so many fond memories from those Cape Cod summers—sitting in the dining room of the inn and eating pastries from the local bakery for breakfast; walking out on the jetty at the mouth of the local harbor with my family; collecting shells and sea glass with my cousins; playing pinball with my dad and sister at the local pizza parlor; body surfing and boogie boarding on the windy, wavy days.
Years later, my husband and I met after being set up on a blind date by a mutual friend. He actually called me to schedule our date right before I was set to go on my family’s annual Cape Cod vacation, so I asked him to call me again after I got back.
I hadn’t been too impressed with him based on that initial phone conversation. On a walk on the jetty with my mom, I told her that he “seemed kind of serious,” and she replied, “Well, you never know.”
As usual, my mom was right, and the next summer, my now-husband joined all of us for our family vacation on Cape Cod. Even though my own personal love story didn’t start on Cape Cod as Laura and Jonathan’s does in Falling for the Innkeeper, the jetty that’s featured in the book will always hold a special place in my heart.

My Thoughts:

What an interesting story! I'm not a big speculative fiction reader, in fact it's a genre that I rarely read, but something about this book's description intrigued me, and I was excited to request a free review copy.
This book kind of reminds me a little bit of the movies 13 Going on 30, and Isn't it Romantic?, with a Christian fiction twist and a story that is all it's own! The Ring Does Not Fit is a great story that does a beautiful job of pointing the reader to Jesus, without ever being preachy!
This story is a quick read that kept me flipping pages super fast because I had to know what would happen next!
I really liked main character Alena, though there were times that I got a tad annoyed with her because she couldn't see what was right in front of her face, but let's face it, I don't know about you but that's something I know I myself have done numerous times, so it's definitely true to life and very realistic!
Overall, even though it's not my genre of choice I really enjoyed The Ring Does Not Fit and highly recommend it!
(4 Stars!)

I received an ebook copy of this book from the publisher. Which did not influence my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own!

More from Sunshine

“Why are we never satisfied?  I mean, we can have
houses, cars and money and still want more! If I were to break it
down, I would have to say…insecurity.  Maybe we feel like we’re not good
enough. I don’t know about you, but I compare myself with others

measure up.
My book “The Ring Does Not Fit” concentrates on appreciating what is right in front of you,
celebrating those who are still with you and staying humble.
Because the grass is not always greener on the other side and there
is always more going on behind the scenes that we don’t know about.
I wanted to explore the issue of contentment  in my book.

an attitude of thanksgiving and praise where you are thankful
for what you have, no matter how little or big it is.
That’s the first step to loving life.”

A Father's Promise by Mindy Obenhaus: Review and Giveaway!

A Father's Promise Blog Tour
Welcome to the Blog Tour & Giveaway for A Father's Promise by Mindy Obenhaus, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours!

ABOUT THE BOOK

A Father's Promise by Mindy Obenhaus
Title: A Father's Promise
Author: Mindy Obenhaus
Publisher: Love Inspired
Release Date: June 16, 2020
Genre: Inspirational Contemporary Romance

He doesn't think he deserves a family...

but now he has a daughter.

Stunned to discover he has a child, Wes Bishop isn't sure he's father material. But his adorable daughter needs him, and he can't help feeling drawn to her mother, Laurel Donovan -- a woman he's finally getting to know.

But can this sudden dad overcome a past tragedy that has him convinced he's not meant to be a husband or a father...and make a promise of forever?

My Thoughts:

What an awesome story! Since I first saw this adorable cover I knew I had to read this book, so I of course jumped at the chance to request a review copy! I loved this book! Mindy Obenhaus is a new-to-me-author and while this was my first time reading one of her books it most definitely will not be my last!
This book has an excellent message, if we confess our sin and ask Jesus to be our savior He can (and often does) turn our mistakes into amazing blessings! It never fails to fill my heart with awe at how God uses everything, even our biggest screw ups for good if we let Him! And this story showcases that fabulously!
Wes and Laurel were wonderful main characters, I loved them both and was cheering for them from the start!
This book definitely has some swoon-worthy moments, but if you're someone who prefers a romance that is about much more than just physical attraction I think this is a book you'll really enjoy!
And I just have to say that Sarah-Jane was adorable and she always made me smile every time she appeared on the page!
A Father's Promise is every bit as lovely of a story as the cover suggests! I highly recommend this book and am eagerly anticipating my next trip to Bliss, Texas!

Bringing a tracking dog to town

put her in a killer’s sights

Inheriting a ranch is a fresh start for Emma Pierce, her baby and her search-and-rescue dog—until someone tries to kill her.

But Sheriff Reed Atkinson won’t let anyone hurt his first love…especially when they uncover a connection to his vanished sister.

Can Reed solve both cases before he loses his sister and the woman he’s falling for all over again?

EXCERPT

"The sound of a loud crash turned his blood cold. Emma! The front door was wooden, old, with a flimsy deadbolt. Thunder boomed, and Reed took advantage. He rammed the door with a well-placed kick. His heel screamed in protest, but the wood splintered. “Come on, come on...” He focused his energy on the weak spot he’d created. He slammed into the door again. It shuddered and gave way. He entered the house, his flashlight moving over everything. A banister leading upstairs. A dining room to his right. A living room to his left. His breathing was ragged, but the hand holding his weapon was steady. Which way? Upstairs or toward the back of the house? He paused, straining to listen. There. A noise coming from the kitchen. He raced down the hallway. Someone was coughing. His flashlight caught a dark figure bolting out the back door. Reed swung to his left. Emma sat on the tile floor, one hand holding her neck. Her face was red and her long hair stuck out in all directions. Relief replaced the terror in her expression when she caught sight of him. "

Review: The Truth About Fame by Toni Shiloh

Happy Release Day to The Truth About Fame by Toni Shiloh! This book has become my favorite of Toni's books to date, and Fox is one of my all time favorite heroes! 😍😍😍
Check out the book and my review below!

About the Book

My life has always been in the spotlight. Born to two famous parents and then quickly rising to "super" status in the modeling world ensured that I, Astoria "Tori" Bell, would always have my image plastered across newsstands. Unfortunately, adoring fans weren't always magnanimous and now I have a stalker on my hands.
Oddly enough, the tall, dark, and all-too handsome bodyguard hired to protect me seems more harmful than the threatening notes from the stalker. As well as his plan to flush out the danger by proposing a fake engagement.
The lines between pretend and reality blur and I have to shore up my resolves. Baggage from my past means I can't let myself be vulnerable. But the way Marcel Fox treats me has me thinking otherwise.
With a new rock on my finger and the man who put it there by my side, happily ever after seems like a possibility or is that as fake as my public persona?
The Truth About Fame is the second book in the Christian Chick Lit series: Faith & Fortune.

My Thoughts:

Wowza, this book knocked my socks off! Toni Shiloh is one of my all time favorite authors, I've loved each and every book of hers that I've read, but The Truth About Fame has become my very favorite of her books!
I absolutely and completely loved every single moment of this book! When I first met Tori Bell and Marcel Fox in the first book in the series, The Trouble with Love I knew their story was going to be amazing, and it turned out to be everything I dreamed it would be and so much more! I love Fox, he is such a fierce protector, but also a huge sweetheart, he stole my heart at the very beginning of this book and has yet to return it to me! Marcel Fox most definitely has a spot on my list of favorite heroes of 2020! Tori is an awesome heroine, I loved getting to know her and my heart broke for her, there were numerous times I found myself wishing I could reach through the pages and give her a hug!
Everything about this book is amazing, I loved the banter between Tori and Fox, I loved Fox's grandmother and niece, I loved the fake engagement aspects of the story (especially the proposal 😍) and I loved the way the romance developed!
I adored everything about this book, but I think perhaps my favorite part of this book is the suspense element, it's SOOOO good, kept me glued to the page, and brought me to the edge of my seat, adrenaline pounding!
The Truth About Fame is an absolutely phenomenal book that I already want to re -read! It 's one of my favorite reads of 2020! I most highly recommend it! I would recommend reading The Trouble with Love first, because The Truth About Fame does contain a couple spoilers for the first book, and because you won't want to miss a moment of the awesomeness that is the Faith & Fortune series! I can't wait to read Octavia's story, The Price of Dreams!
Read this series, you won't be sorry!
(5 Stars!)

I received an ebook copy of this book from the publisher. Which did not influence my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own!

Review: Molly by Sarah Monzon

Happy Release Day to Molly by Sarah Monzon! Read on to find out why this book is one of my favorites of the year and why you should grab a copy ASAP!

About the Book

If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I absolutely refuse to tell a lie no matter the consequences. So don’t ask me a direct question unless you’re prepared for a direct answer—that’s something my SoCal sewing girlfriends have learned the hard way.
But who would have thought my honesty policy would get me fired from my job at the preschool? Or that a desperate—and not to mention devastatingly handsome—single father of one of my (now-former) students would hire me that same day as a nanny for his daughter?
I’m an education professional. How hard can taking care of a four-year-old and her over-stressed, over-worked father be?

My Thoughts:

5 Stars! (Scratch that, I give it all the stars in the sky!)

This book is rom-com perfection!
Sarah Monzon is one of my favorite authors, and anytime she writes a new book I automatically want to read it even before I know a thing about it, such was the case with Molly! This book was at the top of my most anticipated list for 2020! A quirky, pink haired heroine who refuses to tell a lie? A hunky, single dad, doctor hero? SIGN ME UP!
As soon as I started this ARC I was completely immersed in the story and before I knew it I was at the halfway mark, and I totally would have finished it in one sitting if, you know, life hadn't interfered with my reading time (Grrrrr!)
Oh my goodness, Molly is everything I dreamed it would be and so much more!
I was spellbound from page one, and I loved every single word!
Molly was a fabulous character that I found myself relating to quite a bit, she is so loveable and delightfully real, and she's someone I'd love to be friends with! And Ben, can you say dreamboat? He is so kind, caring, protective, devoted, selfless, funny, incredibly sweet, and just the tiniest bit adorably nerdy. He had me melting from the beginning, at which point he stole my heart and has yet to return it to me! Ladies, you're going to want to have your fan and perhaps a fainting couch handy because Dr. Ben Reed is swoony with a capital S!
Chloe is adorable, and she has become one of my all time favorite child characters! I loved the other ladies in the sewing group and I'm so looking forward to reading each of their stories (and can I just say that Sewing in SoCal is the BEST series title ever?!)
This book is absolutely hilarious, before I finished chapter three I had lost count of how many times this book made me laugh out loud! This book kept me in stitches from start to finish, and there isn't a single thing about this book that I would change!
This book made my heart smile, and there truly aren't words to describe just how much I loved it!
This book is perfection! It's a must read that I can't recommend highly enough! Buy it, read it, you won't be sorry!
Molly is beyond amazing, completely delightful, and definitely has a spot on my list of favorite reads of 2020!

I received an ebook copy of this book from the publisher. Which did not influence my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own!
