Review: Unrivaled by Siri Mitchell 5 Stars!!!

This is the first book by Siri Mitchell that I have read, though I do have "The Messenger" on my to-read list! I really, really liked this book! I loved the writing style, and I am looking forward to reading more books by this author.

The one thing I didn't like about Unrivaled was that I wish the characters would have trusted and relied on God more than they did. I also wasn't sure if the characters ever actually did give their lives to the Lord, and I wish it would have been confirmed by the end of the book.

Now that I have mentioned that, I am free to gush about what I did like!
I love it when I find a book that has a unique twist to the story line, in Unrivaled I absolutely loved that candy making was a HUGE part of the book (it doesn't get much more unique than that!) This book was written very well, so many lines in this book, while not overtly funny made me laugh out loud with their dry wit and sarcasm! I love it when that happens!!! The characters were excellent, and while not necessarily unforgettable, were certainly memorable! I felt the pace moved really well, it never felt too slow to me. While this is quite a long book at almost four hundred pages, I was immersed in it and I read it in a day and a half, I didn't want to put it down! I enjoyed this one immensely and I highly recommend it! It was an exciting ride that made me feel like I was really in 1910 St Louis! Definitely a keeper!

I received this book for free from Bethany House publishers in exchange for my honest review. The above is my honest opinion.
All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own
