Review of Be Still My Soul by Joanne Bischof 4 Stars!!!
I enjoyed this book. It is definitely unique in that you are not supposed to like the hero for much of the book! I found myself really relating to Lonnie a lot, her life and struggles felt believable. The story flowed nicely but sometimes I got a little confused as to how much time had gone by. I fell in love with Jebediah and Elsie immediately! I liked Jebediah's approach to teaching Gideon the lessons he needed to learn! This book is written in third person POV alternating between Lonnie and Gideon, it really helped to get inside Gideon's head. Overall I found Be still My Soul to be a good one time read, this writer definitely has talent and I look forward to reading the next installment in this series! I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys historical romance, especially in the Appalachian mountains described so beautifully by the author! Please note there is a tiny bit of non graphic sexual content that was coerced by Gideon, their is also some moonshine and a bit of violence, nothing terrible but just be aware. Review of Almost Amish by Kathryn Cushman 5 Stars!!!
This book left me speechless! I could not come up with any words to describe how much I loved it, I will try to now but I can't make any promises! I truly felt when the characters were on the farm that I was reading a chronicle of my own life! I loved Angie, she is so much like me it's scary! I grew up watching and loving the PBS show Frontier House and this book is very similar to that show. I knew when I read the summary of this book that I would love it and I am pleased to report that I loved it even more than I thought I would! The message of contentment and the conclusions that the characters came to about life are the exact same ones I have come to in my own life and it was awesome to feel like the author really GOT me! I believe everyone would love this book and I think it should be required reading for all! Almost Amish really touched me personally! This book is absolutely incredible! All I can say is I really hope the author will write a sequel, I am not ready to let these characters go!!!

Review of Inescapable by Nancy Mehl 5 Stars!!!
Inescapable
is the first book I have read by this author. I immensely enjoyed it.
I do not generally read Amish or Mennonite fiction, not because I
don't respect them but because I do have a very deep respect for them
and I feel like most authors portray them as being regular characters
with worldly struggles just like everyone else, that just so happen
to live in an Amish or Mennonite community, this is not true, the
Amish and Mennonite's lives are not like ours and the reason why is
because they know what really matters in life and what doesn't. I
know that the authors do this in an effort to make worldly people
better able to relate to the characters, but me and my family attempt
to live by Amish values as much as possible and it really gets under
my skin when authors portray their characters as acting like and
doing the same dumb things as everybody else. Okay I'm down off my
soap box! Everything I just said does not apply this author, her
characters are perfectly accurate Mennonite's and completely charming
and believable. I was swept into this story from the first page. I
loved Lizzie, I found myself relating to her a lot. I was completely
in love with Noah from his first entrance in the story! Charity was
absolutely adorable and reminded me so much of myself as a little
girl. I also loved the suspense, my personal definition of suspense
is when you don't have a clue what is going to happen next, this book
is full of those kinds of twists and turns. I was completely
fascinated by this book and very much look forward to the next book
in the series! I highly recommend this book, even if you don't
usually read books in this genre either for the above mentioned
reasons or for other reasons I would encourage you to give this book
a try! I loved it! The author has a new fan in me!!!
