The Number of Love by Roseanna M. White Review & Giveaway!

About the Book

The Toughest Puzzle She’ll Have to Solve

Might be the Wishes of Her Own Heart

Three years into the Great War, England’s greatest asset is their intelligence network—field agents risking their lives to gather information, and codebreakers able to crack every German telegram. Margot De Wilde thrives in the environment of the secretive Room 40, where she spends her days deciphering intercepted messages. But when her world is turned upside down by an unexpected loss, she discovers for the first time in her life that numbers aren’t enough.

Drake Elton returns wounded from the field, followed by an enemy who just won’t give up. He’s smitten quickly by the intelligent Margot, but soon the dangers of the war draw ever closer. Margot and Drake will have to work together to save themselves from the very secrets that brought them together.

About the Author

Roseanna M. White is a bestselling, Christy Award nominated author who has long claimed that words are the air she breathes. When not writing fiction, she’s homeschooling her two kids, editing, designing book covers, and pretending her house will clean itself. Roseanna is the author of a slew of historical novels that span several continents and thousands of years. Spies and war and mayhem always seem to find their way into her books…to offset her real life, which is blessedly ordinary. You can learn more about her and her stories at www.RoseannaMWhite.com

More from Roseanna

When I told my best friend and critique partner what book I was pitching next to my publisher, her response was something along the lines of, “That sounds awesome. Also, you’re crazy, and I do not envy you writing that one.”

I laughed…and knew exactly what she meant. Because I was setting out to write a heroine who was a mathematician—which I am definitely not. A heroine who was utterly indifferent to love and marriage—which makes for a difficult story when one writes romance. A character who had an unshakeable faith—which has to be shaken at least a bit in order to make for growth throughout the story. And more, a character who has “issues,” let’s call it, that those familiar with such things will recognize…and which those who aren’t will probably think are quirks.

I was setting out to write a story that would be challenging for me, every step of the way. And the result is a book I’m incredibly in love with and so happy to share with the world.

The Number of Love is all about Margot, who thinks and even prays in numbers. Born and raised in Belgium, she and her family fled to England in 1914 when the Germans invaded her homeland. Thanks to her remarkable abilities with numbers and patterns, she’s now employed at Room 40, the Admiralty’s secret codebreaking branch. But as I was contemplating what sort of man could ever win Margot’s heart, I knew he had to be very different… someone active where she’s still. Someone outgoing where she turns inward. Someone who sees in her what she never can, and who believes she can grasp the dreams that society tells her are unbefitting a woman. This is how Drake was born—a field agent employed by Room 40.

I can honestly say this is the only book I’ve ever written that required me to borrow my daughter’s algebra book while I was writing it, LOL. And though every single scene was a challenge, it was one I thoroughly enjoyed. I hope you’ll join me on the journey that Margot and Drake are on, which answer the question my husband cheekily asked more than once as I was writing it: what is the number of love?

My Thoughts:

A riveting start to White's new series!
I love this author's books, she is one of my favorite historical romance authors, and I am always eager to read her next book, as was the case with The Number of Love! I loved Margot in A Song Unheard and was absolutely ecstatic when I learned that she would star in the first book of The Codebreakers series! I loved Margot so much, she is just so fun and delightfully real! I liked Drake a lot. And I absolutely loved Drake and Margot on the page together, their banter was always such fun, and their meet-cute was fabulous!
I absolutely loved getting to catch up with some old friends from the Shadows Over England and Ladies of the Manor series, that was fantastic and put the biggest grin on my face! One of my favorite parts of this book was the faith story, which was deep and soul-stirring without being preachy, it grabbed my heart and hasn't let go! Another thing I love about Roseanna's books is the historical detail, as soon I open one of her books I am spellbound and swept away into another time and place, which is what I love most about historical fiction, and The Number of Love was no exception! This book is a great read that I very much enjoyed and highly recommend! I am very much looking forward to the next book in the series!

ABOUT THE BOOK

Title: Tate
Series: The Montana Marshalls, Book 2
Author: Susan May Warren
Publisher: SDG Publishing
Release Date: July 9, 2019
Genre: Christian Romantic Suspense

What will it cost this bodyguard to save the woman he loves?

Bodyguard, Tate Marshall, has always been the family troublemaker. Maybe it’s his impulsive propensity to get into the middle of problems that don’t belong to him. But once in, he can’t stop himself from trying to solve them and that includes his recent dilemma. He’s in love with the woman he’s supposed to protect, the beautiful Gloria, “Glo” Jackson, daughter of US Senator and presidential hopeful Reba Jackson. A member of the country band, the Yankee Belles, Glo was targeted in a recent terrorist attack designed to deter her mother from running.

Glo is as stubborn as her mother, and Glo isn’t about to hide from threats, at least the kind that won’t cost her heart. Because she’s already paid a terrible price for the war on terror, and she can’t let herself love a man who might die, especially because of her.

As the campaign heats up and the threats deepen, so does the attraction between Tate and Glo. But when they’re discovered, and Tate is fired, what will he do to protect the woman he loves?

And what will Glo do to keep from losing another man to the costs of war?

The gripping second installment of the Marshall Family series.

My Thoughts:

5 Stars!
Wowza! What a thrilling read! I have been a fan of Susan May Warren's books since I read Take a Chance on Me, the first book in the Christiansen Family series, and I have been hooked on her writing ever since! As soon as I heard about this series I instantly knew I wanted to read it, so needless to say when I was given the opportunity to sign up to review Tate I jumped at the chance.
After absolutely loving the first book in the series I had pretty high expectations for Tate and I am thrilled to say that this book exceeded every single one.
The suspense was amazing as usual and kept me glued to the page!
I absolutely loved Tate and Glo. They each carried deep scars from their pasts and my heart broke for all they had been through. I was cheering them on from the start! As much as I loved Glo and Tate, I think I actually loved the secondary characters of Ford and Scarlett a tiny bit more. I'm not really sure why because we don't really have anything in common, but for some reason I found myself really relating to Scarlett and wishing she was real so I could reach out and ask if she wants to be friends! And, oh my, I am loving all these Marshall men, but I think Ford just may be my favorite Marshall brother so far, so I CANNOT WAIT for his story!
This book has everything I expect from one of Susan May Warren's amazing novels, nail-biting suspense, swoon-worthy romance, well drawn characters that become like friends to the reader, humor, family, and last but most definitely not least a faith message that is deeply moving without being preachy! There is just something about Susan's books that never fails to make me smile, and I always find myself hating to leave the pages of her fictional worlds, Tate was no exception! I loved every moment of this book and am dying to read book three, Ford!
Highly, HIGHLY recommended!
This is one series you aren't going to want to miss, but I would recommend starting with Knox, as Tate starts right where Knox ends!

Review: Live Without You by Sarah Grace Grzy

5 Stars!
This is a new-to-me author so I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I was so intrigued by the description of this story that I jumped at the chance to request a review copy, and I am SO glad I did! As soon as I started the first chapter I knew that I was going to love this book, and love it I did!
I loved both Piper and Ezra instantly and was rooting for them from the start, the author's wonderful writing led me to care deeply about these characters, and I couldn't stop turning pages as I had to know what would happen next. While I have not dealt with the exact same things Piper has, I could still relate to her a lot, and was cheering for her to realize how much God loved her! Oh, and it's just a small thing, but I absolutely loved that Piper was left-handed, I am a lefty myself and I don't think I've ever seen a left-handed character in fiction or at least never pointed out even if there was one, so it was just so neat to see that and it made me feel a real kinship with Piper!
And Ezra, oh my word, what an amazing hero. He was so sweet, caring, protective, tender, funny, sincere, and just completely awesome that he totally captured my heart and made me melt, plus, the man's a paramedic so that doesn't hurt either! ;)
Another favorite character of mine was Cecile, she was just so delightful and never failed to make me smile!
The faith story is at the center of this book and not only was it an incredibly moving and all-consuming story to read, but it touched my own heart deeply and drew me even closer to God! In my opinion this is a story that everyone should read!
I loved everything about this book and I will most definitely be rereading it in the future!
I highly recommend Live Without You and I cannot wait to read this author's next book!

Review: Now and Then and Always by Melissa Tagg

5 Stars!
Okay, if you know me at all then you know that I am a huge Melissa Tagg fan! I automatically want to read anything she writes, even before I know what it's about! This review will probably be on the short side because I am currently speechless in awe at the amazingness that is this book! Reading Now and Then and Always felt like getting a bear hug from a dear friend that I haven't seen in ages!
I loved Mara and Marshall instantly and was rooting for them from the get go, both as individuals and as a couple, their growth and spiritual journeys were incredible and I especially loved their quirks (I just might share Mara's love of Lucky Charms cereal!)
I love Maple Valley SOOOO much, I seriously wish it was real so I could live there. I may have cheered out loud when Logan Walker and other Maple Valley favorites walked on the scene in Now and Then and Always, and I had the biggest grin on my face when I got to virtually step inside The Red Door once again!
This book gave me all the feels and I loved every minute of it!
The mystery and suspense aspect of this story was AMAZING and one of my favorite things about it!
Now and Then and Always totally and completely blew my mind! It was everything I could have ever dreamed of and so much more! It's one for the keeper shelf and I will definitely be rereading it in the future! I loved everything about this book and there isn't a single thing I would change!
Melissa Tagg's writing talent has just raised the already sky high bar a few gazillion levels and I am already giddily anticipating her next book, it can't come soon enough for me!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
